Overview

CamPlot ("we", "our", "us") is a web-based director's overhead plotting tool operated by Romany Films Inc. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

When you sign in to CamPlot using Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the sign-in provider. We use this information to create and manage your account.

When you use CamPlot, we store the shows and plots you create, including any background images you upload. This data is stored securely in our cloud database to enable saving, syncing, and sharing features.

We also record simple counts of which CamPlot features you use — for example how many times the viewfinder or a calculator was opened — along with the general type of device you used (such as "iPhone" or "Mac"). These are counts only: they never include the contents of your plots, your location, or anything you type. We use them to understand which tools matter most so we can improve them, and they are never shared with anyone outside CamPlot.

Crash reports and diagnostics. If the Viewfinder stops unexpectedly, the next time you open it we send a technical report so we can find and fix the fault. The report is the screen you can read for yourself at any time under Viewfinder → Settings → Camera diagnostics → Details: your phone model and browser identifier, which camera lens was in use and its settings, how the phone was tilted and which way it was pointing (its compass heading, not its position), the app's recent start-up timings, and the technical trace of what the app was doing when it stopped — which can include error messages produced by the app itself. Sent alongside it are your account, if you are signed in, and a random identifier for the installation so that several reports from the same device can be recognised as the same device.

It does not include your plots, your images, your location, or anything you type. You can turn the automatic sending off at Viewfinder → Settings → Send crash reports automatically, and you can send a report by hand at any time with the Send to CamPlot button on that same Details screen. These reports can only be written, never read back, by the app: they are used to fix faults and are never shared outside CamPlot.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve CamPlot's services, including authenticating your account, saving your work, enabling sharing with collaborators, and communicating with you about your account or the service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your plot data is only shared with other users when you explicitly create a share link. We may share information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Cookies and Local Storage

CamPlot uses browser local storage to save your session and preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all your shows, plots, shared links, and personal data from our systems.

Deleting Your Account and Data

To delete your CamPlot account and everything stored with it:

1. Open CamPlot (on the web at camplot.studio, or in the iOS, Android or Mac app) and sign in.
2. Tap your profile picture to open Account.
3. Choose Delete account at the bottom and confirm.

Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel the deletion by signing in again. Any active subscription is cancelled at the same time.

What is deleted: your account and sign-in credentials, all shows and plots, ground plans, uploaded images and viewfinder captures, backups, shared access and collaboration records, annotations, notes and saved preferences.

What is kept, and why: a record that the email address previously used a free trial (to prevent repeat-trial abuse), any unsubscribe preference (so we continue to honour it), and basic email delivery logs. These retain no other personal data.

If you cannot access your account, email privacy@camplot.studio from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.

Children's Privacy

CamPlot is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
